The Operations Division is comprised of three platoons of firefighters alternating 24-hour duty shifts to provide continual year-round service. Each platoon is commanded by a Battalion Chief who is responsible for the emergency and administrative activities of all members assigned to the platoon. Operations Division personnel operate out of four fire stations staffing four paramedic engine companies, one rescue company, two brush engines, one water tender and two advanced life support paramedic ambulances. Lakeside firefighters respond to over 5000 calls for service annually including fires, medical emergencies, traffic collisions, and a wide variety of other requests for service.

The Fire Chief and administrative staff operate out of the Lakeside Fire Administration Building at 12365 Parkside St. Administrative personnel are responsible for establishing policy, planning operations, controlling budget, managing expenditures, supplies, facilities, and personnel, evaluating operational effectiveness, and implementing improvements. The division continually focuses upon the Department's effectiveness in managing the district's fire protection delivery system in order to minimize loss of life, property, personal injury and environmental damage from fire, accident, medical, and hazard related emergencies.

The Fire Prevention Division performs a variety of duties designed to prevent the loss of life and property in the community.
